Default Guide to getting a dire jingle bear / rainbow phoenix

ok so these are the only two pets that are not already level 20, and cant be death level to dire.

so how do you get these two pets to go dire, lots of grinding.

i have tested this and tried it, i would say if you wanted dire ones on yoru heros to do them all at once.

to start go cap your choosen pet( do zoning to get the pet on your heros)
rainbow pet can only be capped by you.

once you have the pets you want you need to go to great temple of bath. and disable all your heros skills. go out side head to the right , to the master of healing. put your pets on attack, and flag your heros a little bit away from the master of healing, then go afk for about 15 min to 30min.

once you have done this you willnotice your pets never killed the master of healing, nor have gained a level. but have done alot of damage.

now to level your pet,

to do this you will need nothing more then h/h teams take your heros that have pets to be leveled and rest henchies. and go to Gate of Desolation zone to the north.

grab the blessing(it helps get sunspear points only if needed though), pelase note doing this in hardemode makes it alot faster.
head to the right dont agroo anything, take your team into the worms, notice you pets are dead. do not worry they still get xp, and dont take any damage.

kill around the sand area , alll the undeads and things around. once you have done this zone and repeat. your pet will gain 1 level per run, up too level 10 runs take 15 min. higher then level of your pet longer it will take.

to make this go by faster you can drop a couple of henchies to gain more xp, but it alot harder to kill and will slow you do anyways most of the time

i know the guide isnt great but least give syou details, i know alot of poeple ask how to get these to dire alot, and i couldnt find a guide at all to do them

Also, White Moas cannot be death leveled.

And... I think it's easier to just kill the Snow Wurms outside of Boreal Station solo than to waste time doing what you're doing. Doesn't the pet level up more slowly if the experience is split up for a party?

All I do is set my BM level to max and go out of GoK and bring mergoyles one step closer to the endangered species list. I've gotten good dires doing that in HM.

Let me just say this as nicely as possible:
You are using a pet.
A PET.

Yep. Buff your pet with [strength and honor][judge's insight], and other damage buffs and level them at Boreal Station with the snow wurms. Simplest and safest and pretty quick too.

Here's my easier way to get Dire pet, and works with any non-lvl 15+ pet

Your choice of either,

[build=Dire Pet Training Version 1;OgATY5LmViz40gH0L82QWi2YzAA]

Extra Runes used Superior Beast Mastery, Minor Expertise, + anything else of your choice, totals are 16 BM, 9 Expertise, and 10 Marks.

Or
[build=Dire Pet Training Version 2;OgATY5rmRiz40gH0L82QWi2YzAA]
Extra runes used, Superior Beast on the mask, Minor Marks, Superior Expertise... bringing your totals to 16 BM, 9 Marks, and 13 Expertise. This version would give you lower health, but each of the skills costs less energy to cast (the breakpoints are 9 and 13 for expertise).

Method,

Load up the build above, and with no other members in your party, exit out of the North exit from Boreal Station. Obtain the Norn bonus from the shrine (this is entirely optional).

Just before you get to where the worms appear, start casting the two pet shouts [Call of Protection], and [Symbiotic Bond], when a worm appears, lock the pet onto the worm target, and start casting [Never Rampage Alone] and [Feral Aggression]. The attack speed will only increase by 33% due to GW's stacking rules, but the extra damage from Feral and regen from Rampage and Symbiotic will all work.

Once all skills have been cast and are recharging, start using your pet attacks, starting with [Feral Lunge] and then [Enraged Lunge]. If any of the previously cast skills recharge, use it again. This is because [Enraged Lunge] gives extra damage for each recharging Beast Mastery skill.

With the shouts active, your pet will not be taking much damage (if any), and will be doing quite a bit of damage itself, this is the essence of what is required to obtain a dire pet, it HAS to do MORE damage than it receives.

[Symbiotic Bond] may start hurting you a bit, but if you take it easy and you'll be fine worms will only attack one at a time and they are not fast attackers either. If you want, you can attack the worm with your bow just to speed things along a bit. There are 13 worms in total to kill, once they are all dead, /resign and start over again.

If you have done this right, your pet will evolve to Aggressive at around level 11, and then Dire at around level 15. This will not take to long to happen. When I did this one run took my pet from level 5 to 6, and the next run it went to level 7.

Oh and take some picks, there is often one chest and occasionally 2 chests in the area.

If you apply attacks that don't do say physical or nuking damage. Example of this would be degen skills or life stealing skills, it doesn't count as you doing the damage. So you can weaken the monsters considerably to speed the time, your pet should still evolve to dire even though it's doing less overall damage of the hp. But it's still dealing "all of the damage" evolution wise.

Probably just a coincedence, but possibly a bug: On my warrior i use a pet so i can run Never Rampage Alone for an IAS with battle rage. I named my pet dire Lion, and just through normall play, no attribute in BM etc, etc my lion evolved to Dire. And no, i wasnt autopiloting heros, or running a rubbish tank build.

The worms outside boreal are nice, thats where i got my rangers Lizard to dire.

If you did the Xmas quests to unlock Jingle, you can still charm him(/her) now by going to the same spot where it will still spawn.

i didn't do the xmas quests tho, i just asked someone in Kamadan if they could help me get a jingle bear. they did it for free, but i gave them 5k anyway.

ie. you have to be in a party with someone who has done Jingle Bear and he / she appears in Gwen's Garden.
